Geophysical Surveys
Our high resolution earth resistivity meter 4point light 10W provides quantitative information about induced polarity (IP) of the soil. It measures the phase shift between the current injected into the ground and the voltage seen at the potential electrodes. It has adequate power to drive Schlumberger soundings up to L/2 = 1000 m.
GEOTECHNICAL INVESTIGATIONs
Foundations are the most critical component of any structure. For long term sustained superimposed loading, the information of subsoil strata and their strength is of key importance. The knowledge also supports in understanding the behavior of retaining walls, earth dams, clay liners and geosynthetics for waste containment. Key issue is with the presence of water, natural moisture content can greatly affect the behavior of soils and should be carefully monitored. Role of geotechnical engineers range from the design of foundation, may it be deep or shallow, to the design of temporary excavation support, route selection for highways and railways and most recently the solid waste companies are conducting such surveys for the seepage analysis and leaching of organic and inorganic impurities to the water bodies underneath. As such, the geotechnical engineer is involved in field and laboratory investigations to determine the engineering properties of site soils and other geomaterials and their subsequent use in the analytical study of the problem at hand.
